On the afternoon of December 27th, the second working meeting of the Academic Committee of the "International Joint Laboratory for Low-Carbon Building Environment of the Ministry of Education" and the "International Joint Research Center for Building Equipment Science and Underground Space Environment of Shaanxi Province" was held at our university. Lai Yuanming, the chairperson of the Academic Committee of the Joint Laboratory, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the president of Chongqing Jiaotong University, Fan Jingdao, the chief scientist of Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum (Group) Co., LTD., Yuan Yanping, the Party Secretary of the School of Mechanical Engineering of Southwest Jiaotong University, Li Angui, the Chinese director of the Joint laboratory and the president of the School of Building Science, and other members of the Academic Committee attended the meeting on site. Professor Olefson Thomas, the foreign director of the joint laboratory and the dean of the School of Engineering Physics and Electronics at Umea University in Sweden, along with over ten other members of the academic committee, participated in the meeting online.

He pointed out that the joint laboratory has achieved a new breakthrough in the construction of the school's scientific research platform. The school will continue to strongly support the construction and development of the joint laboratory and research center, and contribute the strength of Jianda to accelerating the realization of high-level self-reliance and self-strengthening in science and technology.

At the meeting, Li Angui made a work report to the academic committee of the joint laboratory and research center, and introduced the work direction for the next year. He said that the joint laboratory will focus on research in areas such as underground environment protection and intelligent buildings, continuously promote the industrialization of technology, strengthen international cooperation in talent cultivation, scientific research and collaborative innovation, and strive to achieve greater breakthroughs.

The experts attending the meeting affirmed the work carried out and achievements made by the joint laboratory and research center in the past year, and put forward opinions and suggestions from aspects such as scientific research foundation, domestic and international cooperation methods, and development goals.

Academician Lai Yuanming stated that the joint laboratory has accumulated long-term scientific research achievements in areas such as underground space environment and building environment guarantee. It has achieved a number of new results in the past year. He hopes that it can continue to leverage its disciplinary characteristics and advantages, further promote the output of high-quality results, continuously expand its international academic influence, and strive to become a first-class international cooperation platform.

After the meeting, Academician Lai Yuanming and other experts visited the joint laboratory. The heads of the International Office, the Academy of Building Research, and the Institute of Science and Technology attended the meeting.
