On May 21st, Sun Yao, Member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Education, led a delegation to conduct an inspection and provide guidance at the International Joint Laboratory for Cooperative Research on Low-Carbon Built Environment of the Ministry of Education. Wang Shusheng, Secretary of the Education Working Committee of the Shaanxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and Director of the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education, and Zhao Xiangmo, President of the university (note: the specific university name is not specified in the original text; adjust if the official name is confirmed), accompanied the investigation.

Li Angui, Director of the International Joint Laboratory for Cooperative Research, briefed the inspection team on the laboratory’s construction progress and research achievements. As a key Sino-foreign research base in China’s deep underground space environment assurance field, the laboratory focuses on national environmental safety needs for major underground projects. It has made breakthroughs in developing advanced ventilation technologies for infrastructure like underground hydropower stations, tunnels, subways and cave depots. Its research on large-scale underground project air quality control has been widely used in national and regional major projects, providing key technical support for residents’living safety and environmental protection.
Sun Yao highly praised the laboratory’s long-term achievements in the field of deep underground space environment assurance. He particularly recognized the team’s "research-production-application" integrated innovation model, which was developed to address core challenges and promote achievement transformation in response to the needs of national major project construction. He also urged the laboratory to continue leveraging its disciplinary advantages and make greater contributions to enhancing the modernization level of China’s underground space environment assurance.
