Recently, Stanford University and the Elsevier Data Repository released the 2025 edition of the World’s Top 2% Scientists list, which evaluates researchers across 22 scientific fields and 174 subfields based on a systematic analysis of Scopus citation data through the end of 2024, using six key metrics including total citations, H-index, co-authorship-adjusted HM-index, citations by authorship position, and a composite c-score that emphasizes research impact over productivity by incorporating co-authorship patterns and author position.
Professor Li Angui from Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology, who serves as Director of the International Joint Research Laboratory for Low-Carbon Built Environment under the Ministry of Education and leads the National Huang Danian-style Teacher Team, was recognized in both the Career-long Impact and 2024 Single-year Impact rankings; he has long been engaged in underground space environmental protection research and is a recipient of honors such as the title of "National Distinguished Young and Mid-Career Expert", a national candidate of the "Hundred, Thousand, Ten Thousand Talents Project", an awardee of the Ministry of Education’s "New Century Excellent Talents" program, a two-time recipient of the National Technology Invention Award (Second Class) as first author, and a winner of the WSSET Innovation Award from the World Society of Sustainable Energy Technologies.
The database reflects Scopus author profiles as of August 1, 2025, and while comprehensive, the compilers note that all citation metrics have limitations and should be used judiciously.
