Recently, the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Science and Technology issued a notice stating that among the 110 provincial-level discipline innovation and talent introduction bases in the province, the China-Nordic Joint Research Base for Indoor Environment and Energy of Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology has been successfully selected into the list of Shaanxi Provincial Excellent Talent Introduction Bases for 2025, and will receive continuous support from the department.

Rooted in the national strategies of Western Development and Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality, the base adheres to the development philosophy of "integrating Chinese and foreign strengths, forging strong alliances, attracting talents through talents, and cultivating talents alongside talent introduction". It is committed to creating low-carbon, energy-efficient, comfortable and safe built and underground space environments, and driving technological innovation and advancement in the field of air environment protection.

Through the coordinated development of the international joint research laboratory and the talent introduction base, the two sides have jointly carried out collaborative R&D and project cooperation. They have also actively promoted the organization of a series of international academic conferences, as well as the exchange and joint training of international scientific research talents. These efforts have effectively enhanced the disciplinary innovation capability and comprehensive competitiveness in the fields of underground space and built environment, and boosted the university's development toward Double First-Class status.
